Subsidized Housing (RGI)
Subsidized Housing is also known as Rent-Geared-to-Income or RGI. It is meant to make rent more affordable for households. In most cases, RGI rent is 30 per cent of a household’s monthly income. If you receive social assistance, the rent is based on the rent benefit set by the Ontario government.
Subsidized Housing, also known as Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI), is subsidized rent at about 30 per cent of your family’s gross income. If you receive social assistance, the rent is based on the rent benefit set by the Ontario government.
Unfortunately, the number of people in need of subsidized housing is greater than the number of units available meaning there is a long waitlist for subsidized housing.
